Low VOC topside paint

Trying to get some painting done in the garage, but the fumes are so bad, the Admiral has closed the ship yard .... Any suggestions, type of paint ??? Trying one part Poly., with the recomended primer. paint goes on great, but have to wear resperator in the house . Thanks for any advice

fiberglassing the floor

When you guys glass the floor, do you try and use one long piece (14'), or do it is 2 or 3 shorter pieces. Easier to work with the shorter pieces. Thanks Steve

The Mansfield is 17'...Original motor was a 35 E-rude lark. I put on a 70 E-rude for more power but was too heavy, couldn't get it trimmed. Now have a 50 on it and so far seems to be ok. Still have the original. Mansfield did not make the switch to FG so went out of business. I also have a 14' mansf...

I have been building a Sabotina also as a learning tool, will be doing a larger project next. I have a restored 1955 Mansfield, (see photo if they load) and the entire boat is Doug. Fir except for the Mahogany topsides. So I went to HD and did the whole Sabotina thing in Doug fir, and exterior plywo...

Thanks everybody for the advise. I have not decided yet....... My Sabotina build is on a jig, with frames. It's a trial run..to see how I do, before trying a larger boat. Dave...what did you use to turn photo 1, into photo 2 ???? It looks great. Steve

finishing plywood edge

how do you guys finish the cut edge of the plywood hull between the sheer, and the outer "trim" piece ???? Seems like it needs more than paint to keep water out ??? Thanks Steve

If the full size patterns show the inside size of the bow/transom...then the side and bottom frames will have to extent way past the bow/transom piece in order to have any left when the angles are cut...not flush to the outline of the bow/transom as shown on th...
