Re: 20ft Texas Barrel

Can't add much to the prop discussion... I would definitely go with Bill's recommendations.

I really like the stack of white oak. So cool to have a family timber farm as a resource!

Re: modified malahini

Everything's looking great Bryan! The homemade stand looks very functional... getting (and keeping) the hull level and plumb is a huge help in building out interior details.

Re: Building a La Paz 24

Check your local supplier but in our area vertical grain fir is at least 50% more expensive per bf than sapele or african mahogany. Sapele in particular is a good choice for structural applications (straight grain, not ribbon grain)... dense and very strong with tight grain, machines easily and epox...

Thanks Gayle, I appreciate your kind words. The performance and beauty of the Glen-L designs are what make all the effort worthwhile.

Re: Building a La Paz 24

Thicknesses are given on the plans as "nominal" so for less than 2" subtract 1/4", for 2" or greater subtract 1/2" to get th...

Re: Klondike Build

Thanks Jim and Bryan; we had a relaxed Thanksgiving. Billy, getting the doors built and installed has been a great relief (not to mention the enhanced privacy  )! Carl and Matt, the drawers have actually been built and installed but the cabinet door and drawer fronts are waiting for the next ba...

Re: Klondike Build

A quick post for the Holiday... Haven't had much to show for interior work so here are a few pics of where we're at. The doors are built and the day head door is now hung with latch in place. Door to day head.jpg This is a look down the spiral stairs to the below deck cabins... the railing took a fe...

I'm going to try a brief post with a few pics... hope this works Ok. I've been missing my Glen-l fix... glad the server's on the mend! The exterior paint is slowly coming together... have added red lower stripe (bottom paint will be red as well but won't happen until after transport). Masking tape i...

Looks great Carl. Here's a reference for a bulletproof marine deck finish that might be a consideration for the anchor well... https://www.durabakcompany.com/marine/?_vsrefdom=adwords&msclkid=c8162fa821371e67502b746f6fe1614b&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=**LP%20Branded&utm_term=durabak...
