Re: Klondike Build

Hi Leland, I am greatly relieved that the survey went well... no squawks on equipment or hardware. Hope to have the final report soon so can submit to BoatUS to bind the insurance policy. I was fortunate to get a surveyor willing to make the trip to look at the project. He was highly recommended to ...

Re: Klondike Build

Thanks Lee, it's true the living areas have taken a lot of extra work and some expense, but like you say it's like having a floating apartment... maybe some day (with wife's approval  ) might just want to cut loose and live on the water. Thanks Jim, glad you might have a use for the synthetic ...

Re: Klondike Build

Thanks Nick... we're getting close. A few interior pics: The helm area is pretty much complete except for flooring which is templated but not cut. Still need to tidy up the wiring under the console... Helm Console 1.jpg The flooring is in place in the cabin areas. Need to complete the access panels ...

Re: Klondike Build

Thanks Carl... I've underestimated just about everything on this project by an order of magnitude, including its potential for negatively affecting family relationships. I'm fortunate to have a tolerant wife, and glad that we're moving on to the next phase... Thanks Jim... The picture is taken towar...

Re: Klondike Build

A brief update... The survey is now scheduled for Sept 22. Trying to get loose ends tied up & general cleaning done before the inspection; will still have 6 more days until move. Flooring will start tomorrow (Monday 9/14)... all material is on hand and templates are already cut out for transfer to t...

Re: Klondike Build

Thanks Carl... it’s been pretty warm for the past few weeks but smoke from the fires has been the greater nuisance. Seems to be improving a little this week. I’ll be glad to be done with 2020!

Re: Klondike Build

Thanks Chris... I was really fortunate to find a young metal fabricator early on who was looking for some extra work to help support his new family. He's done all of the metal work over the past 10 years from tanks to mast and railings... it's been a real education for me, and I'm encouraged to see ...
