Re: Changes

That was my original plan Jim, but now that I know it may be possible to get the grooves without ruining the ply, I'd really like to have the texture and topography.

Re: Changes

I'm strongly considering this:
The teal was inspiration picked up on Michael's Zip thread.

Changes

I've already posted about the forthcoming deck changes to my Zip and once again, I was using the Windows 'Paint' program to explore ideas which is exactly how I came up with my current layout. I was going to ask if anyone herein had done a Zip with a walk-thru deck. I don't recall one lately, but it...

Re: Key Largo Update - Boise, ID

I wanted to thank Bryan for inviting me over to see his beautiful Key Largo earlier this week. The work work is fantastic, the finish is amazing, but the size... After living with my Zip for a fer years, that 20' mahogany beast is just luxuriously big! I was jealous! Bryan, gonna have to do the two-...

Re: Hello from California!

Welcome!
Many of us chose the Zip because it fits in about any garage, especially with a swing-away tongue on the trailer.
It's a great design as are they all!

Re: Klondike Build

Yours continues to be (imho) the pinnacle build detailed in these forums. Very inspiring! Might I suggest a professional photographer to document your accomplishment and take those stunning beauty shots she deserves once she gets wet. You might even call a local reporter to be there. This once in a ...

Anything out west coming up?
Now that I live where the rivers run the other direction, my dreams of making a gathering are less lilely to come true.

'Supermarine' is now 'Blue Water'

As I gear up to rework my top-deck and do some touch-ups, I have discovered that the Supermarine 'Ironsides' mil-spec paint that I used is now Blue Water 'Revolution'. The product code is still SM-1000 and the color codes look the same too. I will asume that primers and related products are also ava...

Re: Michael's ZIP

You position for the butt joint is spot on--exactly where it is on mine. I like the color interplay as well. Love the sea foam green! That color really gives the boat a 50s feel for me--something I worked hard to maintain on my own Zip. If you go bright on the boat, the maintenance routine gets much...
