Re: Tampa Fl, Checking In.

The Vee Gull is 20'-2" with an 8'-0" beam. Good freeboard. You could do a more standard deck and a Mahogany veneer. It took me a second to pick up on the bay use. I keep my boats just off Mobile Bay. I know when it starts getting rough that all trailerable boats become the same size. TOO S...

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

Carl Here are some pictures from the Bartender. In the full picture, thanks Tom Juring, the 4 lowest thru-hulls are bilge pumps. I think those are 12" above WL. The problem is that is exactly where I needed to frame the V-berth. Also, a picture of the cabin section that shows the cabin side slo...

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

Carl The Bartender cabin walls are, I think, 5* from vertical. The partial deck beams were cut on the angle before the carlings were installed. The sides were then installed on them. I like it. But, it does make fit up of other thing a bit tricky. From what you have done to now, you won't have a pro...

I think the 115 E-Tec will be just right. That should give you a WOT of about 40 mph. Easy cruise of 24 to 30 mph. I talked to a mechanic in Belize. He had nothing but good to say about E-Tec.

sad to hear of your losing Buckshot. I still miss all of the dogs and cats that we've had. But, as in Forrest Gump, "Dieing is just a part of life." Sorry,

Billy There is a skeg that starts at the end of the stem, at nothing. It ends 18" to 24" ahead of the engine at about 2" tall. The little piece is 15" to 18" aft of the prop. I'm not really sure what it is really doing or why I thought about trying it. It may just act as a l...

Here is my screw-up with trailer. Fortunately, the fender comes off with only 4 bolts.

The second picture is a small skeg that I added. It pretty much cured the low speed wondering!
