I think the 115 E-Tec will be just right. That should give you a WOT of about 40 mph. Easy cruise of 24 to 30 mph. I talked to a mechanic in Belize. He had nothing but good to say about E-Tec.

sad to hear of your losing Buckshot. I still miss all of the dogs and cats that we've had. But, as in Forrest Gump, "Dieing is just a part of life." Sorry,

Billy There is a skeg that starts at the end of the stem, at nothing. It ends 18" to 24" ahead of the engine at about 2" tall. The little piece is 15" to 18" aft of the prop. I'm not really sure what it is really doing or why I thought about trying it. It may just act as a l...

Here is my screw-up with trailer. Fortunately, the fender comes off with only 4 bolts.

The second picture is a small skeg that I added. It pretty much cured the low speed wondering!

Well, I finally got the Francis Lauren back in the water. She ran great! Good news: I had a problem with low speed wondering. I put a small skeg at the aft end of the keel, 2"high x 12" long. Remarkable improvement! Fuel gauges now read port on the port and starboard reads on starboard. Ba...

Neel had too much clearance between the strut and prop. His shaft broke from fatigue. As rich said 1 shaft diameter.

Just as a point of reference: many of the old engines were 6 cylinder that turned about 3000 rpm. A modern 4 cylinder turning 4000 rpm will give about the same report. Many people want an 8 cylinder. But, never use the power or rpm.
