Re: Lo Volt Willson Construction 12

My plans are to finish up AYE DOCK after Christmas. I want to put in wooden floorboards and make the canopy. After that I am looking at the Squirt since I have a grandson but need his father to sign on to store the boat once finished. I am also looking at the 12 and 14 foot Driftboat since I am an a...

Re: LO VOLT Electric Motor System

I thought about that but the set screw's head is beneath the flange berring surface. On he second day the boat was really pushed and we had no trouble. I think it was the heating up that loosened the screw the first tiime. I was able to retighten it up while still hot so the problem is solved. Just ...

Re: Lo Volt Willson Construction 12

Wanted to let everyone know that AYE DOCK did laucnh and performed beyond expectations on Labor Day. The speed was clocked on a GPS at 11 mph max speed. The motor when running at 1/2 throttle was moving the Launch at about 8 mph. With the throttle at 1/8 to 1/4 the Launch was morving right along wit...

Re: LO VOLT Electric Motor System

Found the problem and with a quick 30 min fix the motor is running great. The relay for the forward and reverse needed to be powered by 48 not 12 volts. Slight miss communication on all of our parts but not a problem since the forward and reverse controlller can handle the increased voltage. Problem...

Re: Zip fibreglassing

Caution with bi-axial. On Lo Volt I use the bi-axial on inside seams for strenth and the cloth dries very ROUGH you will spend a life time trying to fix it. I actually would lay the bi-axial and the cloth right over it on the seams and still had some trouble that l had to take care of with voids bet...

Re: Floating instead of winching onto trailer.

AYE DOCK was launched today. Jeff Dorber with Contnental did the custom design work on the trailer for the Lo Volt design the boat literly pops off the trailer like a cork and slides on the trailer with a glove fit. The stern rudder is set for a clearance of 14 inches. This gave me plenty of room th...

Re: Lo Volt Willson Construction 12

Resolving the problem with the trailer today. Jeff Dorber from Continental trailer had modifications prefabricated to retrofit the trailer to work better. Does it EVER. AYE DOCK foats off the trailer like a cork and slides onto or should I say into the trailer with a glove fit. I made some comments ...

Re: LO VOLT Electric Motor System

This evening solved the problem some what. Motor is a serial moter and the plans for connecting we were working from were for a parallel designed motor. So --- changed the motor attachment and now have a motor that runs. BUT only in forward not reverse. Always learning something . We think we know t...

Re: Lo Volt Willson Construction 12

Tried to launch but had trouble with what we think is the controller. Will be talking to Bob and EVA and moving ahead from there. I am sure this must be the first time a boat of this type has been built,. Paul ran into a small problem with the cushions with the taper so should have them done Monday....
