Where on LI are you Tim. I'm in Brookhaven and built Ken's boats before. Still have Miss Chris.

windshield brackets help

I built Hankinson's Miss Chris and had custom aluminum windshield brackets made. They have not held up well and I'd like to have them duplicated in either brass or bronze to be chromed. I have found only one casting shop that offered to build them but their price was over $2K and I'd still have to p...

Re: Trailer question

Thanks for the thoughts. I wasn't thinking of welding an extension on but rather buying a longer tongue and bolting it in like the original one is. Just wondewring if the added length would affect the towing. It would certainly help with launching.

Trailer question

Is there a standard for the length of a trailer tongue? I want to extend mine to make it easier to launch my Miss Chris but I'm not sure of the factors involved.

Re: Small trailerable houseboat

Check out this site. Duckflat boats. There have been very fine and sucessful solar electric trawlers built. Go for it.
And look at WoodenBoat Magazine issue #185. I'm going to build it.

Miss Chris launching with photos

I launched my Hankinson Miss Chris this last fall but have not ben able to post any photos. Here is a link to the site that a friend's frind has begun. The template is Danish so some of the words are not familiar. I'll try to add some from the construction process as well, although the steps are har...

Re: Hankinson Miss Chris

I'd like to be able hitch up the trailer and run down to TN this weekend but it is a long way from Long Island. I'm working on getting a site with photos.

Hankinson Miss Chris

I finally finished my Ken Hankinson 26' triple. It sat on the waterline as it should and ran very smoothly. I'm still breaking in the engine and getting the pitch right on the prop but I measured 40 MPH at 4000 prm. Whoohoo! I'll try to post a photo.

Re: An Engine for my Belle Isle- A PLEA FOR HELP ???

I bought from Doug Russell and have nothing to say but good things about their organization and price. I shopped for almost a year and they are the best price and offer good advice as well.

Re: Windshield Brackets

I'd be VERY interested in a set of bronze brackets. I'm finishing up Hankinson's Miss Chris and have about given up on finding off the shelf windshield brackets.

rocking boat?

I saw the rocking boat that Warren Lyon built and would love to build the same boat for my grandson. How can I contact him or get similar plans? Most of the plans available on wood working sites are for very plain and uninteresting. Warren Lyons, ahere are you?
