I can't believe people can ba like that. All of my neighbors are delighted that I built a boat and they were all enjoying the experience with me.
Your neighbor is lucky you are a nice guy because my letter would be short and sweet.. @$#% OFF!

i used BS1088 Meranti and one sheet of sapele. Meranti is cheaper and seemed a lot stronger. Sapele is really light but expencive. I ran out of wood and insted of driving an hour for one sheet of meranti i drove around the corner and payed 20$ more.

Bruce,
Your progress is coming along well! The decking looks great! its unfortunate what happened to the transom but at least it didnt go thru the veneer.
I hope youre bringing her to the wharf this year!

I have yet to hear about someone using Sitka Spruce on their build. Has anyone used it? If not, why is it recommended in the bill of materials if its so expensive and hardly used?

If you haven't searched around for wood in your area ill just give you a heads-up that noahs is by far the cheapest around. They sell nice philipean mahogany for $5.95 a foot and Meranti 6mm 5 ply for $48.95. They also deliver if you aren't up for the ride there and back.
