I think 50hp would be good for that boat. Older 50hp 2 strokes probably weigh the same as a 40 4 stroke anyways, which a lot of people put on their Zips. The transom would have to be modified to fit the long shaft tho.

316 SS is more resistant to corrosion and cracking then 304 SS is.

I snapped a few trying to soak the chine and sheers too. Another way is to cut thinner pieces and laminate them together. The epoxy bond makes it stronger then the wood itself.

Squirt Trailer

Anyone know what type of trailer i should use? I wasnt sure if I should get a pwc trailer or one of those small tin boat trailers? anyone have any ideas?
Also, and fellow ontarians know where I can get a decent priced trailer?
any help would be great!

I spent $850 on wood, $350 on epoxy, $600 on the stereo system, about $150 to paint it last year and another $150 to repaint over my mistakes this year. I spent a lot more on all of the little things like brushes, rollers, sandpaper, tools, and of course hardware. All in all i spent about $3000 CDN ...

One of these days Im gonna put a bigger motor on my squirt. My squirt is the 10' verson and it can hold more the the 97lbs 20hp thats on her now. It still goes about 35mph right now tho.. still lots of fun
