I used one in my Squirt too. Its really simple to do and in my opinion looks much cleaner.

I sprayed my entire garage with mist from the hose and let it sit for a while. Then i painted. It works well. Same with when youre varnishing.

I bet you could pull it off if you build the 11'4" version. Id recommend trim tabs. I have them with my 20hp on my squirt. The one problem I can see you running into is water coming over the transom when you slow down. Also the waterline will be very high at the transom with a 40hp motor. Adding ano...

I used the same hinges as graham did. There from the mini. The origional european one that is. If you go on E-Bay and type in "mini boot hinges" you'll see them.

Oh i see.. Yeah same idea really.. Mine came with the motor about 8'. So i just looped it back in behind the hatch. I can't see it and its not in the way so it works for me.

I used an 8' cable it its pretty long.. i had to loop it once before i installed it. It really depends on there your steering wheel is located. Measure from the motor to the end of your transom, to the dashboard, to your steering wheel.. Then add a few inches or a foot. I think thats the way to go. ...
