The frames are 1/2'' baltic birch....I did tests with that ply. a few yrs. ago leaving it submerged in water for weeks and also leaving it ouside for a long time..never did delaminante...For this aplication it is great and stronger than ever... What canoe design are you building? I use a pc. of 1/2'' material as a cutting jig for the stringers for the stern and bow. I got a copy of his book and it has a Table Of Offsets for 3 boats and helpfully understanding of lofting...It's realy quite simple..just width and length measurments and conecting the dots..to establish the frames.. You know... if a stitch and glue boat has enough frames (suports or bulkheads) draw...

Looks like it would work ,move cockpit up front...might have to lengthen the hull a foot, I did with my TNT...go for it :)

I haven't found a source for Marine ply. under 1/2'' here in the K.C. area... And I buy from cabinet shop suppliers that flat out say they can't get it ...or like Schutte Lumber they need to get a unit or (bundle) at a time....So I used luan on my TNT and it never failed....
