I agonized over drilling that hole for weeks, worrying that it would be crooked or worse. It ended up taking me about 3 hours total and came out perfect.
Its not nearly as hard as I looks.

I kind of agree with razopp.
I dont have any real experience with them but if they were any good there would be more of them around. Something about taking an old design motor and putting a new cowl on just seems like the cheap and easy way out, and that usually is not good

Pettit makes a product called rust lock for priming and trailercoat for the color. I havent used it myself but I have heard it works good.

I also thought that the cracker would make an excellent outboard boat.
Beefing up the transom area and relocating the seating area forward maybe 12" to 24".
I think it would make a nice rig with a long foredeck.
I would think the fore-aft balance would be the main concern.

I will make the Jambalaya Friday afternoon, unless someone has an objection. I am taking off that day and will be there early.

I figured weeks ago we would have 40-50 people. When making Jambalaya or any other group feed, its just as easy to make for 50 as 20. You can always heat it up the next day ! I will bring all the bowls, utensils , etc for it also . I was hoping the lodge restaurant will be open for breakfast. If you...

Cut the shaft in two in a logical place and then use a 4-bolt clamp type coupler about 4" long to piece it back together, extending the shaft. That is , if I understand you. Go back to my post about the coupler, It seemed at the time that you had no positive connection to the impeller. All that talk...

Who's not drinking! The boss and I just hopped in the Checkmate and eased down river about a mile and went to our annual riverfest. Many BBQ teams from all over the South, live music and cold Bud light. A nice night for a boat ride, last day of summer, 88 degrees at dusk. Dont get much better. Oh wa...
