Re: Requesting assistance with building my Bull's Eye

At this juncture if all bulkheads and dimensions are correct at the sheer, as everything is already tied in I would just fit in a tapered piece and make up the difference.

Re: Requesting assistance with building my Bull's Eye

Do the seating areas become level as you move toward the transom or do you still have the 5/8” difference?

Re: Requesting assistance with building my Bull's Eye

Rob- I went to the customer photos and saw a few pictures of the Bullseye. Here is one that shows the detail where you are at. Start by checking the spreader that you have installed and make sure that is correct width. Before making any adjustments would try looking at the plans and maybe some of th...

Rob-
...posting a picture of this would be helpful. often framing members have to be faired to yield a flat surface before joining. It sounds like this is what's happening.

Re: Neel's Palm Beach 22 build

Thanks for the heads up on the Raptor stapler. I was tinkering with some more cedar strip building and now thinking the nailer might be a better choice.

Re: Malahini performance

Matt-
That performance improvement with the tabs was a good one for the boat. I think your comment for adjustable tabs from the helm is the complete answer, as you can get rid of the bow down attitude when you are running at top end or after the skier is up.

Re: 16' Ski Boat Restoration

More than likely with the low freeboard, you will also be using fenders at the dock. What most wooden boats have is a cleat near your A&C location and a cleat for a fender about position B and about a foot forward of cleat A (so they don't foul each other.) I like the bow cleat when I lead the boat ...

Re: Highschool Riviera Build Project

Michael that looks terrific! As you suspect, the garden hose is not enough water to run the engine on other than a test. Must feel good having this much of the build completed. Hope the shops and wood supplies open up for you so you can get out and enjoy your build this season.

Looks good Leland. Tighten those stitches up and get some epoxy on her. The fish are biting!

Really nice lines on the PB! Are you raptor stapling the mahogany strakes? ...wish that was an option when I built the Belle Isle.

Re: Requesting assistance with building my Bull's Eye

2 must go thru cleats. where the seat meets the bulkhead there must be a cleat there? ...and at the mid point or junction of the bow, hence the longer bolts?

Re: Florida Barrelback

John,
Agree with Jamie about the room for the exhaust when you place your camber boards in the false transom assembly. Also if you are planning on a true lift ring on the transom, get your blocking in place before you close up that area.
