Jeff,

She's a Delta 13-3/4" band saw. It uses a 105" blade. You want me to send you some pictures of it?

Re: Super Spartan, ... Done My Way, ... With Tons of Picture

Thanks Steve, ... The glue joints are strong and "DID NOT" fail. It was the wood next to the joints that failed. Mahogany is a decent wood for rot protection, but it's not that strong, heck I can dig a hole in it with just my finger nail. Sitka Spruce is the ideal wood for a Hydro, strong as hell, ....

JippeFIN,

Glued and screwed. The wood was separating, not the glue.

Re: Super Spartan, ... Done My Way, ... With Tons of Picture

Sorry about the problem with your boat. I think sometimes we forget these are just made out of wood. Looks like your fix will do the thick. How fast will it go and what motor are you running. Jeff Yes, they are wood, but they are still extremely strong. Usually when changing the design, you change ...

They do use finger joints, but they require a cnc router to make them accurate enough.

Pieces cut, fitted and roughly placed. I'll let them sit there over night , a little more sanding to remove paint and soften the edges. I probably should number the pieces as I pull them out, ... might make it a bit easier gluing them in. http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae343/BillCNC/Super...

Re: Finger Joint

Roberta, I to was not to fond of scar joints as it was a pain to make sure the rip cut was 90*. This was taken from my TNT build thread and it might help you in your decision. The great thing is you can line up your wood to a lip inside the glue jig ensuring that the pieces glue up straight. I can d...

I run my 2 strokes at 50:1 regardless if it a chain saw or an outboard. If it starts sputtering, just add a smidgen of straight gas until it runs perfect and still has some smoke coming from the exhaust. Keep track of your dilution ratio then you can keep that ratio for that engine. I only have to t...
