Re: Making wood patterns to cut out parts?

Multiple Pieces

Stack the wood together and gang cut it. Flip the second piece over if you need a mirror image. For appearance reasons, plan your stack with the grain facing the proper side. Quality double sided tape is all you need.

Re: Making wood patterns to cut out parts?

Funny you said don't go to Kinkos Bill! Before I read your post I thought about just checking around and I happened to stop by to get a quote. They said $30 for all 3 sheets. That sold me! Got all Malahini patterns copied/printed for $30. And, oh the fun! Now to get back to cutting my frames again!...

Re: Making wood patterns to cut out parts?

Bill, It IS fun. It's just as easy to cut the part accurately as it is to cut the part with extra wood your going to take off anyway. And Yes, ... I can cut exactly on the edge of a line and if not, it's within a .032" -.064". A disc sander will make quick work of anything on the wrong side o...

Re: Making wood patterns to cut out parts?

The question Bill, how much did it cost to copy the full sized plans? My gf was dubious when I told her i wanted to try doing that because shes an artist and said it would cost a min couple hundred $$$. I like the cardboard/ply replicas idea in order to have the cutouts ready for transfer if you wa...

Re: Making wood patterns to cut out parts?

Oh heck No, ... I run cutting fluids, ... I would have to clean up the CNC as if it was an operating room, ... WAY to much work to prevent contamination. For me, ... the only things that go in the CNC's are Metals and Plastics, unless someone request something else that they would be wiling to be ch...

Re: Making wood patterns to cut out parts?

I just went to my friendly copy center and had a copy of the plans made. I kept the original plans for reference and I cut the copy plans up and used 3M-77 spray adhesive to lightly apply the plan piece to the wood I then cut and sand to the paper. Just a very light misting on the paper is all that ...

Re: Boat moving help?

Craig,

It looks like your trying to move a boat that is still on building jig and it's not had any plywood laid down yet. Is this correct?

Re: Mixing stations?

Tug, I use pumps and/or weigh my mixes. It all depends on the size of the job. If it's 8-16 oz or so, IO use the pumps for speed, If it's under that, I weigh it as the pumps will pump to much. If it's over that, ... I also weigh it because I don't want to have to count 20 pumps. I also keep my epoxy...

Re: Super Spartan, ... Done My Way, ... With Tons of Picture

This past weekend, I pulled the Hydro from her nesting, ... hanging from the rafters only to find, she has a bunch of huge Black Widows living in it. YIKES! So to solve the problem, ... I took the hydro to the local Upholstery guy and had him make a cover for it. He also cleaned out the spid...

Matt, Gayle has put a link in the Miscellaneous section. Still having issues with different browsers being able to get the file to download as a .svg file, but if you PM me your email-addy, ... I will send you the file. That also applies to anyone else who wants a copy of the vectorized Glen-L logo....

Re: Mixing Brands of Epoxy

Paul, We will have to agree to disagree. In the 41 years (since 1972) I have been using epoxy professionally and personally, ... I would NEVER EVER recommend mixing one side of the mix from a different MFG than the other, ... EVER, ... PERIOD and it is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to even suggest it. Nor wou...

Re: I can see severial tings wrong here

I get it that this is just a mockup and fairly nice one at that. But i do have question. Although it may be perfectly suitable one thing about this is that does bother me is the chain drive? I know millions of motorcycles use this successfully but normally I don't see it in this type application. I...
