paint over epoxy

I'm not a painter and all the ideas on here are great but confusing. I have fiberglassed the bottom of my belle isle up to the boot line with system silver epoxy. For paint a guy at Jamestown talked me into Interlux Bottomkote NT for fiberglass. My question is how long should I wait before painting ...

Belle Isle Strut angle

billy c I have been admiring your "belle isle" for some time and can only hope mine turns out half as nice. I have finished the first layer of cold molding and want to plan on drilling the prop shaft hole when the bottom is finished. The plan is for a Mercruiser 350 MPI but I can't bite that bullet ...

Measuring epoxy

I am well along on my Belle framing and it occurred to me that I might not be mixing the poxy-grip correctly. On the can it says mix equal parts but it dosen't say by weight or volume. I thought I read somewhere here that someone had purchased a scale from Harbor Freight and used it to measure by we...

Re: cutting out plywood

If you are using the back to back carbon paper I found a good way to transfer the lines is to use one of those little roller tools that are made to force the rubber in the track on screen doors. I think I paid $1.99 or so at Lowe's for one.

Grand Chillin
Twin Lakes is on Bettis Academy rd about 3 miles north of I-20. If you get off I-20 at the Ganiteville exit then go north you can't miss it. Its on the left past sage mill industrial park. :D

And so it begins

And so it begins. Hello everyone my name is Jim and I live in Augusta, GA (we have a little golf tournament here each year). I'm just beginning a "Belle Isle" project and I'm really getting excited about it. I haven't always lived in the south but moved here in 1965 courtesy of my uncle sam. I marri...
