Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

I had the same thought early on, Matt, but I can't justify spending all that money on another building just to store the boat. Thanks for the suggestion anyway! Skip

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

I have been monitoring this forum since I finished my Monaco, but clearly failed to see the last two comments from JT and Cabron on my own posting. Thank you both for the very kind comments. I did not spray the finish. I rolled it on and then tipped it. But I didn't stop there. I then spent a couple...

Re: Monaco Restart

Chris, so sorry to hear about your mom. It is very difficult losing a mom. Glad you are able to get back on your boat. It looks great! Skip

Re: Rocky Mountain Monte Carlo

JT, thanks for the kind words! SkipCraft...I like it! I am not sure about your 409 and your motor stringer spacing, but in the Monaco the stringer spacing is 26" and I was able to fit the engine completely between the stringers without having to notch them. To get my engine to clear, I actually had ...

Re: Rocky Mountain Monte Carlo

JT, your boat is very nice, can't wait to see it finished. I put the PCM 5.7 engine in my Monaco and it was a tight fit but managed to get it all under the hatch. I moved the oil filter off the engine and mounted it on a bulkhead nearby, because the bracket it was mounted to stuck up above the deck....

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I really appreciate it. BayouBengal, I think that is why I won the trophy. I had her sit in the boat all day!

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

My wife and I attended the 35th annual Hill Country Boat show in Horseshoe Bay, TX this past weekend and took the Monaco for its first boat show. There were about 30 boats there, including a few fiberglass ones. It is an ACBS event, but it was not officially judged. The members present were asked to...

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.

Bob, it is good to hear that the impeller lasts longer than 1 year. I will most likely follow the PCM maintenance schedule just to be safe. I will keep the one I pulled out as a spare, but when it is time to replace it I will buy a new one. My engine has both a conventional water pump for the antifr...
