Re: Roberta's ZIP

Thanks, Bill. If the Zip transom was as complicated as your's, it probably wouldn't be so neat. I haven't had a chance to slobber epoxy all over it yet. Give me time.

Roberta's ZIP

Well, I got the wood on Friday, sorted it out on Saturday, cut the plywood to size and layed out the rough frame members on Sunday, and put it together Monday. Made the angle cuts and top cut last night and sanded the whole thing today. Turned out pretty good. I was a little concerned about the angl...

Re: As Time Goes By!

I do remember milk delivery in bottles, but by pie wagon, not horses. We used to get a chunk of ice from the milkman on hot days. Yikes!!! We are dating ourselves. It's hell growing old, but it beats the alternative. Life is good!!!

OWEEE!!!! What a thing to ruin your day and then some. Your skills in building that beautiful boat will surely bring it back to original or better.

Re: LL Johnson for wood

We will be driving down on Friday and overnight at the marina. We managed to get a 1 bedroom land cabin. But, unfortunately, we will need to leave around noon on Saturday. Should be fun, though, allbeit short. I'll have a progress report.

LL Johnson for wood

Just got all my mahogany, white oak, and Joubert Okoume plywood from LL Johnson in Michigan. They did a great job rough cutting the lengths and widths for me and finished planed the material to the thicknesses I needed. The wood is quality and they were very generous with the lengths and widths. If ...

Re: G4 Registration

Rich and I will be there Friday afternoon (late) and Saturday morning (til about noon). We were able to get a one bedroom land cabin at the Marina, so that will be convenient to all the activities for most of a day. Looking forward to seeing many of the builders we have come to know on the Glen-L fo...

Re: Reference line on patterns?

The vertical centerline is used for referencing the vertical axis on the layout. Usually the top of the bottom frame member is horizontal and can be used as the horizontal axis. You can also draw a line at 90 degrees, through the plans, from the vertical reference line and use that for the horizonta...

Re: Power-Row Skiff 13 1/2

I purchased the captive plug. I guess I also figured on just epoxying the hole and RTVing (or another appropriate sealant) the plug body in place. Please enlighten me.
