Re: Roberta's Torpedo

Hi Roberta, Everything looks great! Nice work ;) On my boat - I didn't like the look of the plastic cap on the steering - I was able to turn a wooden version of the cap that has worked great.. Not sure if yours allows it or not. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a5d837b3127ccee9351b86d22100000030O00...

Re: To add a Swim Platform??

Nice!

I added one too..
Mine is 10 minutes to install/remove (4 bolts)
It will not fit in the garage with it on.
Doesn't hurt the look at all. People love swimming off the boats!

Re: Inboards and replacing antifreeze

Hijacking my own thread.. I just replaced my impeller - 3 years since the last one (when it blew up, it was the original) Now I know - just replace it every 3 years.. It was in good shape - but - found a chunk of the original impeller in the pump housing..OOPS! Missed it last time.. It must have bee...

Re: Inboards and replacing antifreeze

Hey Bill,

Unless you have a straight 6. You likely have drain plugs on either side of the block just above the oil pain.
They are at the lowest part of the engine for the most part.

Antifreeze sucks in the bilge ....

Re: Inboards and replacing antifreeze

Addresses the problem perfectly!

Anyone building a boat - I'd add this and enough hose to make it simple to drain during construction.

Re: Hull Drains

I never get water inside. Before I had a mooring cover it got soaked a bunch of times. Water in the Biscayne levels out under the fan belt essentially. End drains are good for the trailer if you can get the bow pointed up hill enough. I figured I could add one later if really needed - I don't like h...

Re: CPES

3 coats will keep the wood safe..
if you think there are nooks and crannies that the epoxy did not get into...
you may want to try CPES in those spots.
But we are really just talking insurance here ;)

many many have done it the way you have and boats are not sinking all over the place.
