Royal Mahogany question from a newbie

What do guys think of using Royal Mahogany for frames, battens, chine and sheer.
My local hardwood store carries the royal mahogany. I believe the weight is slightly more than genuine or African. Any thoughts are appreciated. Price is good too, $5.00 bf

I was going to ask a similar question, but with a twist. Has anyone used an engineered product (LVL) for the motor stringers? I found some by Bosie Cascade that you can get in 2 x 4 and in 14 lengths. From what I have read they are perfectly straight and very strong.

Thank you for both for the comments. I am leaning towards the tubes, because of the ease of use and time savings. I will still have to dive into mixing epoxy for the laminations etc, but this will at least get me over my initial fears of epoxy use as this is my first time using these types of adhesi...

WEST System Six10 epoxy tubes adhesive for frames??

I am starting to put together my frames for the Barrelback 19. Has anyone ever used the WEST System Six10 epoxy tubes or is it better to use mixed thickend epoxy using the silica 404 filler for attaching the gussets etc. Looking at the epoxy spec the latter may be stronger, but wanted to hear though...
