Re: Pettit High Build Varnish 2056

Bill, I have 2 coats of the 1015 on my bout now and it is awesome in my opinion. I pulled to boat off the trailer to finish painting the trailer. but I'll post pic later next week after coat #3. I'm new at this, but I'm seeing no reason to put 6 or 7 coats on whit this varnish. We'll see

Re: Pettit High Build Varnish 2056

Put the first coat of Petit Captain's 1015 varnish this morning and it's dry this afternoon. So far I'm very pleased. I'll let it sit oernight and sand it with 400 wet tomorrow.

Gayle, the hard way is the only way I learn things. I put the first coat of Petit Captain's varnish on early this morning and it's already dry. I'll post a picture later today. So far I'm impressed.

Re: Pettit High Build Varnish 2056

Not drying. I washed the surface and thinned the varnish. I think Roberta has had the same problems. I did get 2 paddle boards varnished with it, but it was work.

Re: Pettit High Build Varnish 2056

Thanks for the replies. Someone on this forum said he used Petit Captains varnish and had good luck but it didn't get good reviews on a site I looked at that sells it. The only thing I don't like about the 2 part varnish is that I hate to throw out what I don't need. I'm cheap that way.

Pettit High Build Varnish 2056

I've had issues with Epifanes varnish over West Systems epoxy and glass. Has anyone tried the Pettit 2056 High Build varnish?

Sorry to butt in but in the lower picture, the pump will turn clock wise. Also in your power picture, the inlet is on top and outlet on the bottom

Re: Will I fit in a squirt or dyno mite?

I am building a Squirt and I'm 6', 185 lbs and I fit but not easily. However I'm 70 yrs old and have rods in my back. But I do fit and once in it's pretty comfy. I did find an 11" steering wheel for it to make entry easier. I have seen guys who raised the frame at the helm so that could help yo...
