Re: Geronimo's Stem Cap

I have a Keel Guard on our boat and it's great. Only problem I had was my stem has quite a bit of curve to it and I had problems with getting some of the edges to stay glued down. I solved that problem by adding epoxy to the areas where it popped up. BTW, your project is looking great. Nice job

Re: New Member from Utah

If you haven't found a source for wood yet, there are two places in SLC. I've been getting my wood from MacBeath on 300W

Re: SUP Fin

I see no one answered you on this. Did you figure something out? I would go with routing out a hole and add balsa blocks to hold the fin box. You could then re plank over the exposed balsa.

Re: STARTING ANOTHER BUILD!

Carl, I looked at the Falco myself. I love that plane but thought it was out of my building abilities.

The first rough shaping. Going much better than the first sup build.

Building the 12' Orca

This is my second sup build and it's going much easier than the first one. The frame kit is the paulowina instead of the mahogany and I like it better. Is it worth the extra cost? That's a toss up but it looks nicer. Too bad it's inside the board. On this board I'm using african mahogany and basswoo...

Re: SUP

I won a paddleboard lesson at the crab races here in Paamul. This is my instructor on my board. She caught a wave and had a real nice ride into the beach. She said the board is fun. With an instructor like this, I may take more lessons. Not sure why the picture...

Re: SUP

Being new at this SUP stuff, I have been having trouble on this board. But today. I went with a friend who had a 12' board. I used his and he rode mine. His 12' board was easier for me, even with the swells and he had a great time on mine. He says it's very maneuverable and fun to ride. Even though ...

Re: SUP

Well, she floats. With a storm at sea the water was pretty rough for a beginner. I did manage to stand up a few times before a wave knocked me off balance.
