Re: New Glen-L 14 Build

I left my deck beams until I needed to install them. I did a similar thing to you, leaving pin holes in the timber to mark out my patterns and then connected the dots but I didn't cut out the deck beam until I'd flipped the hull and had built in the other deck members. I'm building the Glen l 13 and...

Re: Glen-l 14 mast ?

I'm building a Glen l 13 and have almost finished the plywood box mast as specified on the plans. I'm not sure what the mast on the 14 or 15 is but I wonder if they are the same? The 13's mast is 20 foot. It's probably going to be about 10 kg when finished (just the finishing to go). I'd weigh it ri...

Re: glen-l 13 transom knee and transom angles

I forgot about this question. Thanks for your replies. I went ahead with what I thought was correct and finished the transom with the 26 degree bevel instead of the 16 degree bevel and it turned out to be spot on with only minor fairing required in the places where my bevel wasn't perfect. I also fo...

Re: AG2 Attendees list - please add your name/guests/boats

Hi everyone,

Daniel Bischa here, I'm tentatively looking at being there with 5 other guests, no boat (unless a miracle happens and I finish my glen-l 13 before then!). Arrival likely to be Friday evening.

Re: glen-l 13 transom knee and transom angles

20140706_100024.jpg 20140706_095720.jpg 20140706_095728.jpg If the angle of the transom knee was to be carried through to the underside of the transom, the transom bevel would need to have a complementary angle (add to 180°) with the transom knee. If the bevel is 16° as the plan requires, then 116°...

Re: glen-l 13 transom knee and transom angles

Hi Stuart, thanks for your reply. I did look at the pictures of the glen-l 13, 14 and 15 before I posted my question and was convinced that the profiles looked very similar to what my plans showed. I've taken some pictures of the plans to help explain my problem. 20140706_095451.jpg 20140706_095501....

glen-l 13 transom knee and transom angles

Hi everyone, I have started building the glen-l 13 and have come across something that puzzles me. I have cut out the transom knee, and am currently working on the transom to the point where I have bevelled the frame members for the transom. In a test fitting with the transom knee to the transom it ...
