Aquatron Cover.JPG We cruised around for over 30 miles this past weekend on about 4 kw of electricity. We averaged about ...

Carl, Yes, it is encouraging when the progress is highly visible. I wish my progress could be a some what quicker. It has been almost 2 years since I ordered the plans. I thought I would have it built in 6 or 7 months. Matt -- don't fret about not seeing it completed at this years gathering. Even th...

I began cutting the 3/8" marine plywood for the deck. It will be cut in 4 pieces and the plans show how to get them all out of one piece so here goes. 20170906_192519.jpg 20170906_192437.jpg We got a good start on the deck this evening. I hope to finish ...

This will probably be the last time out before the gathering. We got the boat back home with plenty of daylight to spare so I got to work. I have a lot to do before the gathering in 2 weeks. I put my newly sharpened plane to work and faired the carlings and sheer to be ready to install the deck. Aft...

I couldn't let labor day go by without getting the boat in the water. We launched about 9:30 a.m. and went for on a 4-1/2 hour bird watching expedition. We covered about 20 miles. Some places we were going really slow to get closer to the birds and some of the inlets we followed were really shallow s...

I think the wee hunk was designed for a center console but the bulkhead the seat sits on may have to go all the way across. If so you would not be able to walk around the seat but have to step over it. It is hard to tell without seeing the plans.

My 1000/6000 whetstone arrived this week and I look forward to putting a razor edge on my plane and begin to prepare the sheers and carlings for deck installation. The next few weekends until the gathering I have some big choices to make: Work on the boat or take it out on the lake....

Matt,
It is good to see that you are getting back to work on your boat. It doesn't appear that a car will be inhabiting the garage this winter. But if the weather is mild you will be able to work on the boat until at least thanksgiving.

As it so happens, My sister in law Melanie and and her husband Barry do boat upholstery, are from lookout mountain, boat at Nickajack and will be present at the gathering with us next month. I would be glad to make introductions and show off my new cushions and cover.
