Re: Cruissing the TN River in the tug boat!

:) I love reading all the adventures you go on.Maybe I can go on some adventures when I get my regular sized Bo-jest done.I wouldn't mind just following the shoreline of Lake of the Woods. In amongst the 14,000 islands give or take a few.I have done camping excursion on it when I was a kid but never ...

Re: we have a flip

:D I'm really going to have to think of how to flip my Bo-jest when I get to that stage.I built inside a 12x24 shed I built first.I put in 2x10 rafters tho so I can lift the hull from those Ithink.I built the shed with 10 to11 ft ceiling and an extra wide doors on the bow end so I can get it out som...

Re: Dump the carbon paper!

:D I used clear thin plexiglass and a permanent sharpie for my patterns-just lay on top and follow the patterns.I did the half-pattern and then flipped over for the other side so it matched up.I didn't save the patterns tho as I cut the biggest ones first then cut out the next size down.I cut the pl...

whats a brrrrrrr?

:D One thing I learned a few years ago that if you put syntec oil in your gas golf cart, it will start and run when its 35 below 0 .that's if you don't put it in the garage.Mine just sits out in the snow and the other day I was using it to haul some firewood. ran good as it was only -25 out. maybe i...

Re: Swish

:D Thanks.I like that older boat look!A few years ago a friend of my fathers gave him his 1954 cris-craft.It needed a lot of work since it sat in a pole shed for 30 years .this year he and my brother got it running and out on the water. Ijust love the gurgle, gurgle, gurgle of that old Hercules motor 8)

Swish

 I used to have an old Popular science handyman book that had a boat plan in it named Swish.I think I read somewhere that it was a Glen-l design. But I can't find it in the catalog.I just wondered if anyone built one.I thought it might look cute downsized to child size. :D

Re: Hello from Lake of the Woods

:D Thanks for your input.I haven't worked on the boat for some time now.Need to get back at it soon. Its getting pretty cold up here now.I made a trip into town today and picked up some lumber and stuff to start insulating the boat shed so I can do something with it this winter.I haven't figured out ...

Hello from Lake of the Woods

H ello there all you good boat builders.I started my Bo- jest build about a year and a half ago.I first built a narrow shed 12x24. then started with the set up table ,leveling everything.Instead of using carbon paper for frames,I used thin plexiglass with a permanent sharpie and run those though the...

Re: Hi from northern MN

I really like using the oscillating tool.It doesn't cut veeeerrrry fffassst. But you don't ggooofff veeerry fffassst either.I thought the hardest part of my Bo-jest build so far was bending the plywood in a 12x24 shop.Hope your shop is bigger.

Re: wood and materials

:) Wanted to keep the floor at all one level.maybe Ican make it so its removable later, not glassed in. will have to use my noodle on this one.Kinda hard to do anything now as the boat is in an uninsulated shed, and its below 0 outside right now.so it will be awhile be fore I get to it again.Maybe I'l...
