increasing trailer length

:D was thinking of increasing trailer length by fastening 2 lengths of bigger channel steel over the existing channel sides to accomodate another axle.trouble is this trailer is only 4 ft wide(for 8 ft wide boat)will have to be creative with bigger boat bunks.this trailer will only be used to transp...

Re: Michigan Squirt Build

:D I had a thread on here somewhere asking about using empty 2-liter pop bottles for floatation.might have to stick together with foam in a can. or what about the floating throwable seat cushions(might find a few at rummage sales) :D

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

:D looks good,Carl.I'm not exactly sure but a bilge blower might have to be used if the fuel tanks are mounted-even if outboard is used.so might have to have hose and space for that too.also do you hook the two fuel tanks together so fuel weight is equalized ?I'm putting in blower even tho i'm using...

Re: First time build. Huntung scull boat

Not sure what your hull looks like but on mine, the keel and battans are screwed to the crossframes however the ply is only screwed to battans and keel chine and sheer-not the cross frames.

Re: I'm a Boat Builder! G-L Ski Tow under construction!

:D I wouldn't think that the seat bottoms need varnish too.if not exposed to sunlight.just encapsulated (like your frames) to protect from moisture.might need to use search on webletter index (Glen-L) :D

Re: I'm a Boat Builder! G-L Ski Tow under construction!

Do you know which varnish to use?I couldn't get Epifanes to cure over epoxyshield.(waited 3 weeks)Should have tried the 2-part stuff.good thing to know;the water-based zip strip took it off and wouldn't remove the epoxy.your boat looks really nice.

Re: 150 spoolmate

 Not sure if it matters for you but when I was welding aluminum coolers years ago,the aluminum had to be really clean. The plant had a metal wash system that cleans all oils and stuff off.I had alot of problems welding seems(welds had to be pressure tested underwater.)
