Re: Wisconsin Barrelback

I will second that. Very nice. What wood did you use for covering and the deck?

Re: barrel back 19 in annapolis

Thanks all. Maybe my eyes stink because it looked flat on the plans but after roberta's reply, I put a straight edge on the plan and sure enough there is a slight bow to the keel. Mine still looks bigger than the plan, but I will trust in Hankinson and my ability (or lack there of) to follow the ful...

barrel back 19 in annapolis

Looking for advice from previous bb builders. It took months, but I got my form, stringers, frames, breast hook etc, lined up, leveled, epoxied and bolted on. I am setting the keel in and dry fitting and see that it lies straight over all the frames without any bend except over frame 5 where it seem...

Re: Seattle Barrelback progress

i see that you planked even the aft bottom as opposed to ply where it is below the waterline. Is there a reason other than uniformity for doing it that way?

Re: Barrelback 20'

Will and others:

Can someone explain the argument for and against predilling the shafts hole before the bottom goes on? I don't understand the benefits of why you do that?

Thanks

Ben

Finally, back to building after a long hiatus for board exams, life, kids, etc. Adding the blocks between the frames and stringers now.

Re: Which Design for Chesapeake Bay Use?

I am on the magothy and have a 23' Larson now rider while my build is in progress. I feel fine in the rivers in any weather, the bay is very dicey in my boat in heavy weather and weekends. I will not take my little kids out there (I am fine banging around myself). It is fine on a calm weekday. I am ...

Re: Can I water ski? Catalina Express -Full length deep vee

There are 2 issues you may be overlooking which should not be deal breakers. 1 top speed is not the only engine concern. Acceleration and time to plane is equally or more important. Your poor skier will never get up on the water if it takes a long time to get up to speed. They will lose grip strengt...

Re: facebook

Thanks for the reply. Just FYI: this forum is far from private. True it is moderated and you need a login to post, but to read all you need is the internet and a few smart search terms. So everyone that is posting roughly where they live, etc is sending that to the world without any security. Facebo...

facebook

Would like to follow them but you can't search peoples signature lines for keywords, so finding them is a bit difficult... Wanna respond with your boat build facebook pages? this is mine: https://www.facebook.com/barrel...

Re: Swim platform and side port exhaust

great looking swim platform. If you were to do this in the building stage (as i am) as opposed to after, how would you decide where to locate the platform on the transom. Just above the water line?

Why is the sound diminished? I gotta have the rumble, so if the aide ports are going to diminish that, then I will rethink it...
