Re: Overnighter Milestone

Looks great, I just put the sides on mine. I just need to convince my wife to go back to shool, so I have more time to work on it at night.

Overniter Fiberglass Kit

I was browsing the site and noticed something that made me nervous. The overniter fiberglass kit seems to have a lot less epoxy included than kits for boats of similar sizes. I know the build is not overly popular, so do you guys think I need to get some more epoxy before I fiberglass? I'd hate to g...

Re: Frame Moved

I actually just started the fairing process on my overniter last weekend. I am heading to Vegas for the week, but will take some pictures and send them to you when I get back.

Re: Frame Moved

Jeremy,

Your build looks very similar to what I am doing, other than the fact you garage is much cleaner than mine. Are you also building an Overniter?

paint recommendation

What is a recommended bottom paint for a runabout that will be trailered, fresh water use only, and at most spend 2 nights in the water at a time? Main use is a day at the lake and then back into the garage.

trailer recommendations

Just curious, i never read much on the forum about the trailers used for their glen-l boats. Do people on here generally buy new or used? Are there any recommendation on manufactuers? I am going to need a trailer when I flip by overniter next month and was curious.

How Fast will it go?

I am in the process of building the overniter and looking for a motor at the same time. I have come across a good deal on a 1988 suziki 75HP. I was wondering what type of speed I would get on a lake with this engine. FYI, my frames are built from mahogony and myself and wife combined are around 300l...

Poxy-Grip Application Tools

Just curious what tools people here use apply poxy-grip. Do you just glop it one with a stick or are you able to use a paint brush or roller?

Re: Starcraft tri hull trailer

That brings up a question I had. How do you get rid of a junk fiberglass boat? I live in central Indiana, so there are no boat junkyards close.

Starcraft tri hull trailer

Does anyone on here know if there is a difference for a tri-hull trailer and a regular boat trailer. There is a old starcraft tri hull boat and trailer for sale here locally for a good price. The boat is junk but the trailer is very new. How can I tell if this will work for the boat that I am buildi...

remanufactured outboard

Just curious as to the opinion of the board on remanufactured outboards. There seems to be plenty of web stored dedicated to this and at a pretty good price. Warranty is only between 30-90 day though.

Re: transom cutout

In my setup I plan to have 3 lamination of 3/4 ply to handle a 90HP motor. I have 1" material for the frame so that leaves my with 7/4 thickness at the frame and 9/4 thickness above the frame. So should I add a 1/2" lamination to my frame so it is all fllush or notch my transom knee?

Re: transom cutout

OK, I think I am getting close to understanding. Another question I now have is when I laminate my transom to the correct thickness for a large HP motor, don't I also have to add a lamination to the transom frame in order for the knee to sit flush agaist both the transom and transom frame?
