Nice site, but it's not really appropriate to post a link to another business on Glen-l's web site. The nice folks there plus Dave work to make this site available for our help, not to post a competitor's web site to lose business to.

just my 2 cents

That's a great heading, "How bad do you wnat it", I'll use that No, it's not unfixable but a big project, and would be a real great boat when done. I turned away, twicw now, a 16' Chris Craft witht he same problem. I turned it away for other reasons but this oine was hogged pretty bad. The guy that ...

Can't do it with only 2 names. But my entire shop is Porter Cable and Jet with a few exceptions. But, more importantly is to get tools that fit. For instance some people love Makita tools, I find they don't fint my hands well. like some people fit Dodge trucks and some fit Ford trucks. But if your l...

Ouch, those pics hurt. They call that hoged. If you look inside you will probably see the bottom frame tails where they attach to te side frames have seperated or broken off. Maybe rotted off. If it has been dry for 30 years then probably rot is not a problem. There are some good antique boat sites ...

I completely understand Ken retiring, eventually enough is enough. My beef is how he did it. I know for a fact that he spent several...

And the odd thing is they have not driven even the first nail to start rebuilding and prices are going crazy. Yes, greedy people, especially the energy companies. In a matter of hours the price of gas in New York went from 2.69 to 3.59. In a matter of 8 miles on my way home that day it went up that ...

That's funny that in Japan the ply is hard to find. Almost all Meranti is made in that corner of the world. Doug Fir Marine is a north American thing. Now with Hurricane Katrina all domestic (US) ply prices will be going up like crazy. I stock lots of Meranti and never use regluar ply for anything a...

Your issue would have been if the body filler stuck to the boat. Polyester resin doesn't have the adhesive properties epoxy does. Polyester resing won't stick well to epoxy but epoxy will stick to polyester. That whole patch could have come loose down the road. You did the right thing. Eric Rainbow ...
