Re: Outboard motor insurance in Florida

might want to check your home owners insurance. many cover small out boards for theft( if its not been used this is all you really need assuming they are ok with that) they may have an option to give you a rider policy. I know they have for me in the past when I had the blown alky motor when I was r...

Re: towing your boat behind a house boat

make sure you lash the steering wheel other wise it will be uncontrollable. also remember to slow down for a long time so your boat does not run into the back of you. ( don't ask me how I know  )

don't. you will chase your tail with performance and vibrations. you are way better off getting a good prop.

Re: New Glen-L 14 Build

as some one that owns a bunch of festool, some of it is well worth the money, most is not. I make sawdust for a living. out of everything I have bought festool only the track saw, vacs and routers were worth the money. every thing else was not worth what the lesser quality tools were worth. I have s...

Re: Barrelback 20 4.3 ltr

it should be just fine. the only thing I would worry about is prop size if you were towing skiers. you might be stuck with a small prop and lower rpms.

there is no replacement for displacement. no boater has ever said I wish I had less power.

Re: What is half way point on a build?

the half way point is when you put it in the water... after that you find all the things you want to change and make "better, for the third time"

Re: who likes tbones?

i figure my break even point is about 16 months, between the tax right off and better fuel milage. the write off is most of it. but its not uncommon for me to put 1000 miles on the truck in a week. so for me diesel is actually worth it. if I did not need to tow. a 351 w in a 250 with a c6 would be p...

Re: who likes tbones?

http://www.gearvendors.com/index.html they are an od, for a 3 speed they really make a difference( turn it into a 6 speed), but they are $$$ between 2-3k for older trucks. you get about 20% better with a 3 speed. 4-5 speed autos its about 10% if you tow a bunch of heavy loads and plan on keeping it ...
