Spacing looks perfect. Will look even better with 50 knots on the speedo. I like the wheel too.

Re: Plumbing twin tanks for EFI?
Denon I take it you are incorporating an EFI system to a previously carburettored engine. USCG requirements state that you cannot have a pressurised fuel line more than 14" from the engine, so most marine engine manufacturers incorporate a fuel cell. The HP EFI pump draws fuel from the cell and the ...

Re: Aussie Belle
HI Jamie The centre of my axles sits directly below the rear face of the engine block. This gives me 9% on the ball. Considering that your rig will be operated in warm salty water give some thought to aluminium trailers. Also extendable draw bars are a must as the trailer has to go a lot further out...

Re: Australian Build - Timber Options - Suppliers
I used Hoop Pine, being a local timber sourcing is no problem up here in SE Queensland, but down your way I would give serious thought to Tassie Oak/Mountain Ash.

Re: Tahoe 23
Hi Tony Morse is the British equivalent of the SAE taper. Depending on the shaft size the taper angle can be a larger or smaller to the SAE taper, but it is different for all sizes. A bushing is available so that you can use a morse taper shaft on a SAE taper props, but the prop bore has to be the n...

Re: Tahoe 23
Hi Tony
Just a note on props and shafts. American tapers are SAE whereas locally made stuff is Morse.

Alan

Re: Seattle Barrelback progress
Robert I used a similar arrangement to Rick's. The steering box was from an old Hillman car. The pipe is jointed at both ends (about 36" long) to allow for angular deflection of the tiller and steering box arm. The pipe runs in concave rollers, but with hindsight this was an overkill, a plastic bush...

Hi Jamie
Boat is looking fantastic. Good to see you are back into it. Hopefully we can have have a "Gathering" again soon. How is your father and the Riviera, as we haven't heard any reports for a while?

Re: Power question for Monaco
DHJ I built a Monaco powered by a Lexus V8. I am not suggesting you go that way, but just to compare the stats. Everybody drools over the V8 sound. The external dimensions of a small block V8 to a V6 is not much. Power wise I have 250HP and 250lbsft of torque. That powers a fully loaded boat to 50 m...

Re: Matt's Geronimo
Having used the same light on my Monaco I had the same problem and considered all of the suggested solutions. As the lens is not sealed water can enter through there, so I left the gap at the bottom so any moisture can drain out and the internal cavity is well vented.

Re: Bob's Geronimo 3rd time's a charm
Bob You will probably make numerous changes with your boat before you get it to your liking. After five years I am still doing minor changes, mainly to improve maintenance accessibility. Regardless of any changes you will now be at a stage when you realise what a terrific job GL did in the design of...

Re: Squirt build, Snowy Mountains, Australia
Shaunh As 283 said you have answered your own question. I am only familiar with GL plans for the Monaco and Riviera, but I am sure the same applies all plans. If you are in doubt on the size of any timber (lumber) measure the size off the full size patterns or if they are to scale, measure and multi...

It maybe worth your while to have a look at www.hitekmarine.com.au Not cheap, but will last a lot longer.
