Re: Riviera Wood Question

Thanks for the info. I was using the prices of a place that lists its prices on the internet. I need to start phoning around to get a real idea of the price of the wood. I did discover one error I made. I was looking at wood that would be still 1" after it had been planed. When I should look at the...

Re: Cabin Available for G2012

And to think the event date was originally moved because of me and now I cannot go. What a mess of a year for a lot of us!!! Ahh, the reason isn't important. It will never accommodate everyone all the time with everything people have going on...it seems we will be missing some of the "regulars" thi...

Re: Boat Docks: A Rant!

This was one of our biggest worries at Nickajack a couple of years ago. I showed up a day early last year just to make sure the dock was boat friendly. The only damage I have to Midnight is from a dock as well. Another problem I have seen is the bumpers are too high. Our boats go right under them an...

Re: System 3 C.P.E.S.

CPES dries really fast. I have applied as many as 4 coats in one day.. You would have no trouble applying MAS LV over it in just a few hours. FYI - It is recommended that you continue applying coats of CPES until the wood does NOT absorb any more and you have a light sheen over the wood entirely. On...

Re: Has anyone used Teleflex's Transom Support for Steering?

It looks very similar to a block support I had to buy for my teleflex cable. I highly recommend either this one or the cast block. Both are designed to hold the cable without pinching. I tried something cheaper and ended up almost stranded on the lake 40 miles from dock.

I ordered mine from Boulter Plywood in Boston. At least it is up in that area of the US.

Re: And the SUP is FINISHED

Yes, I am told I have to build another one. I went ahead and bought the second set of ribs. It is actually cheaper to buy them pre-cut that to buy a sheet of mahogany. Not to mention the time savings. Those ribs take a lot of time to trace and cut. I used Miniwax Brown Mahogany for my stain and seal...
