Re: Zip performance Video

Nice build Ted! I'm working on a version of zip myself and am located in Ann Arbor. I know Travis on this forum is working a zip and lives in the southeast michigan as well. We might have to have a zip get together next summer or maybe our own little gathering... I bet 34 feels fast that low to the...

Re: Zip performance Video

Fabulous work Ted (on everything). Maybe this has already been covered. What kind of speeds does she see with just you in the boat and how is the ride quality up to say a 2' chop? Thanks for posting your video. Larry S. Larry, thanks for complement. I get 34 mph on the GPS and the Zip is a smooth r...

Re: FANCY FREE - STITCH AND GLUE

Im confused by your question. The Fancy Free is a framed boat. Is there S&G option for it I missed? Stitch and Glue works in a variety of applications big and small though and the joints are much stronger than the wood itself. Stitch and Glue is also stronger than the framing around the garage door...

Re: Scrambler update

Like many have already said, "it is great to see a metal boat build here on the forum". I wish we could find good plans for metal boats "without welding". It would be nice to build a boat with "rivets". I know there are many commercial made metal boats are built this way, but I have not seen any pla...

Re: A few new Malahini Videos

Jeff, Just a wonderful job on the boat. Love that shine. You had mentioned that you wax your boat. I did not put anything over the top of my varnish.. Should I think about waxing her ? Thanks for the videos. When fogging that engine, is it automatic or did you need to spray fogging oil in as you ran...

Re: G6 - Sights and Sounds... Video

Yep, the wide angle views were done with a GoPro..retail $299. It is the standard lens that came with the camera. Everything else ...videos and still photos were shot with an Ipad 3. The music was recorded with a portable voice recorder.. I failed to mention in the credits that Keith McLean (sorry i...

Re: A question for Zip builders

Sawford, I considered putting it up front, but I thought that might make the performance change as the fuel turned into exhaust. However, there are advantages, I admit. I also considered putting the battery up there or behind the front seat on the port side (since my weight will be on the starboard...

G6 - Sights and Sounds... Video

I put together a 15min video from G6. I am sorry it is so long but I tried very hard to include everyones boat, the music, video clips and many photos. It is in HD and I hope you enjoy it. If you missed this gathering, you missed a great time. If you are thinking about building your next dream boat....

Re: G6 Boat Videos

Thanks for posting this close up view. I had the opportunity to go for a ride but never really had a chance to see it running from the side. What a smooth ride.

Re: Conversation with Gayle - Video

Nice interview. Ted, you mentioned in there that you made the floor thicker than it needed to be, so that added extra weight. I'm curious, how thick did you make the floor? The front area seating was 5/8". I could not believe how heavy that much Ash lumber was so I removed it and then cut dado groo...

Conversation with Gayle - Video

During the G6 Gathering, I was able to go for a ride in my Zip with Gayle and we had a friendly converstation. The ride was recorded but the camera was in a waterproof case so the sound was muted and subscript was used..sorry. This conversation was not planned so it just small talk but the video is ...
