Re: Urgent!!! Help stop the lock closures on the Alabama Riv

Just completed mine. Glad to help. They seem to be doing the same thing in aviation. That is our government looking out for us. :(

Yep...tape everything you don't want epoxy on and be sure to remove the tape before the epoxy hardens. I did ecapsulate every...

Re: A question for Zip builders

I agree with Chris..you don't need all the fuel. I have a 12gal tank mounted in the rear and almost never put more than half a tank of fuel. It is not needed and puts to much weight aft. I would not consider putting the fuel fill in the King plank..just because to the reach distance. I personally do...

Re: Thank YOU.

Thanks, Bill and to everyone who helped out and to those who attended the gathering. This was the first gathering for my wife (Lynn) and I and we had wonderful time. It was really great to see these wonderful boats performing in the water. It was so nice to meet so many new people and begin some lon...

Re: Andy's Zip build

Andy, I used the same paint on my Zip. I tried everything from a brush, to a foam brush and then I ended up with just using a roller for the best results. The key for me was to just put it on and leave it alone and most of the bubbles will pop. I was still not satisfied because of the orange peel so...

Re: Gathering 2012 Menu

Ok, Thanks. Roberta, we also have at least a 10 hour drive home, so our two boats will be on the road early (not as early as you, but most likely by 9am). The plan now is have some coffee cake and maybe bagels, cream cheese and orange juice set out so you can grab and go. Not sure how to handle Coff...

Re: Modifying the Flying Saucer: Questions (Please help!)

Matt, Check out this article by Art Atkinson. He was concerned about getting his squirt out of his basement so he used the "Stem" and made a little mock up for his squirt build. It was the size of the proposed boat and light enough to carry.. We were able to see if it would get out of the space that...

Wonderful......this is really a boat that I would love to see in person. You are really making me want to start building another boat. When we see guys like you, do such great work, it really is inspiring. Please keep the photos and stories coming.
