Re: Neeley's Barrelback - Sacramento

Interesting Jim! I didn't even consider that someone would not tie down both ends of a boat! Especially an expensive boat.
May be hard to change old ways of doing things. Both of my doner boats (inboards) had tie downs in back.
Thanks for your info.
Any news on your build?

Re: Neeley's Barrelback - Sacramento

I had seen your attach points Jamie and i really like how they are hidden under the guard rail.
Did the old boats just hook to the strut or prop shaft?

Re: Seattle Barrelback progress

Thanks Robert.
So all of your finish wood on top of the 1/4" sub deck is 5/8" thick? Your entire deck is 7/8" total thickness?

Re: Neeley's Barrelback - Sacramento

Hi Jim.
I haven't seen how they hold the older boats on a trailer in the rear. Figured you would know! :D And how you are going to do it?
Thanks.
Hope all is well with you and yours.

Re: Seattle Barrelback progress

Robert. Beautiful build! Can I ask a couple of questions? I like the way that you laminated the cover board area with the sub deck plywood. Is your sub deck plywood 1/4" ? Any problems getting it to conform to the curves of the deck? The plans call for a 3/4" cover board around the perimeter. Did yo...

Re: Texas Barrelback 20

Steve. I have that same 1/4" of curvature alone the hinge line of the engine hatch as you have. Your 2018 post. You said that you found a flat hinge that will work on a curve. What did you decide to use?
Thanks.

Re: Modifying the Tahoe 23 design

Most "builders" who go into a big project to get it done, or to get on the water asap, never finish.
Build to enjoy the build.
My observations.
Have fun whichever way you go.

Sounds good Jamie. I have looked through your Belle build extensively, wow! What a beaut. Post some more pics of it in the water when you have a chance. Thanks

Barrelback decking.

Starting the decking on my BB and wondering if you can walk on the decks built per plans on this boat? Also can you walk on the engine hatches.
Plans call for 3/8" total thickness decking, 6" between the battens underneith.
Thanks!

Re: Barrelback-20 Louisville Kentucky

Thanks Matt.

Anyone have the cutoff from a 1-1/8" rudder shaft they would sell? I need at least 4" to extend my rudder shaft up to the upper brace and bearing.
Thanks
