Re: Malahini from MD

thanks all for the engine advice - hopefully all will be sorted soon. Couple of small things - finished the rear cushions - I sewed these on the pink plastic mini sewing machine we gave my youngest when she was about 6.... they are pretty terrible - but meant to only last a season or two! Also added...

Re: Malahini from MD

funny...! - yes, I looked at some of the donor boats too...I just couldn't find any engine/trailer combination that would be worth spending a few days chopping up and disposing of an old boat. Biss - I've spoken to Albert at smalloutboards.com - seems like a good dude - thanks for the referral. Ther...

Strong work! Every time you look at those windows you're going to be proud of all that effort.

Re: Malahini from MD

Guys...this is awesome - thank you. Footer - I have been looking at the CT merc based entirely on the conversations back and forth with you and Biss - I can find one, but so far have only found new - and they sometimes come with the stipulation that it has to be shipped to an authorized merc install...

Re: Malahini from MD

I’ll preface this by saying I know nothing about engines. Is there anything special I should consider for a self install and use of an Evinrude E-tec (75hp)? I’m considering this engine vs a merc 60 - it’s new but I’d want to hang it myself - to save $ and to learn. I understand this is a two stroke...

1/8 thick. Took the bend just fine without heating - and doesn’t feel flimsy.

Re: Malahini from MD

I’ve been working on the windshield today with my youngest. I bought some uv resistant Lexan - cut it to shape using the template I made. Then on the frame I put down a little butyl tape. I use some 304 stainless to secure the top and center of the windshield. That is all good I think. I’m not settl...

Hey there. I know there’s at least one thread on this - just do a search above using “insurance”. One recommendation was haggerty.

Re: Malahini from MD

that's a good idea footer.... If only I'd waited! - I put one high on the port side, just aft of the dash (my tank is in the bow) hopefully with the loop in the line that will stop any water getting to the fuel.

Carl - you've made amazing progress in such a short time. Looking great! I'm really intrigued by building a boat with an inboard - seems to add a whole other level.

Re: Malahini from MD

Hi Rynomine - not much experience on those lakes - I know generally that deep creek gets really busy, my guess is lake Anna does too...but not sure. Every year or two my family spends some time up in Maine - so we'll use it there, but I also thought the lower Potomac would be good. One place I've be...
