Re: The Fletchers Malahini

The side boxes sit against frame 1 and run to frame 3 and but right against the frames, at the widest point around frame 2 they are just under 6.5". The photo I posted with the seat frames was before my adjustment, the photo here shows what I will end up using. I to used the seat in my truck for ref...

Re: The Fletchers Malahini

Boat update; I remade the side boxes with marine ply. I was not confident about using the pine I made them out of. Also started working on the front seats, and the floor boards will be fir. The first coat of epifanes 2 part poly went on and I am very pleased with the result, I only rolled it no tipp...

Re: The Fletchers Malahini

Gas tank, stereo, and most wiring installed. I think I will put a finish coat on the outside soon as the weather is good for that now this way I will be able to put the hardware on and start the decking during the winter. Also need to start thinking about the front seats and trailer shopping. :D IMG...

Re: Biss's Malahini Build

Great idea footer, I will ask around our local marinas. Great info Biss, I will also start looking for an engine hoist I can borrow or rent. I have been doing lots of sanding getting the hull ready for finish coats.

Re: Biss's Malahini Build

That's Great!! Looks like fun! I had a question for you since you mounted your motor yourself and I plan to do the same. I have the same motor except mine is a 2016, did you make a templet for the holes or just sit it on the boat and bolt it on? Also how did you lift it? I was going to get a lifting...

Some progress, motor well, some electric, backseat, and probably one of the most important parts of a boat the speakers.

Re: The Fletchers Malahini

I am going to have the rear seat fold down but only for access to the side compartments, it will be tight but hopefully I will not have to access that part of the boat often. In the center behind the seat I plan on having a hatch for storage, and under the seat for life jackets and stuff.

Re: The Fletchers Malahini

Thanks Biss, I refer to your build a lot for info when I am not sure about the next step(which is a lot). Also had a question about the fuel line, It seems like a long run I guess the motor has no trouble pulling it through the hose. What did you use? Did you use a fuel filter/water separator?, I am...

Thanks for the reply, the white inlay is pine that I had laying around the shop. If this heat breaks I will get back to work but the shop is like a greenhouse.

Re: The Fletchers Malahini

Not much progress lately been so hot in the shop. My gas tank finally came (took 7 weeks ) so I got that in and put the lights in to see how they would look. I cant seem to add the video of the lights, but they look cool you can control with your phone and are mounted underneath for accent. I also p...

Re: The Fletchers Malahini

I was busy admiring biss handywork, I started working on the dash, and side boxes. Been doing a lot of thinking about the hatch in the back, I was thinking on going with one hatch across the back from motor well frame to motor well frame like Matts.
