i used a power-plane for most of my fairing as well. I only used a block plane for a few small sections. I was sure to set it to take of a small amount and made many passes. The only problem i had breaking blades was when i hit fasteners. It seemed to have no problem cutting through thickend epoxy. ...

the windshield definitly looks like it was added later, but i love that style of windshield and i think it makes the boat look better! it was well-done

yes...thickened epoxy definitly helped me compensate for "less-than-perfect" craftsmanship
