Re: Roberta's Torpedo

She is looking great Roberta! I made spring loaded goal posts for my trailer. She is wider in the middle than at the stern, and has to be pretty closely centered on the trailer. Now, I just aim in between the posts and drive her home. As she goes through, they spring out around her ample girth and s...

Re: Sealer help!!

I am a fan of doing it properly (overdoing???) myself. I would sand and then use CPES to soak in and seal properly. Then a primer and two pack over the top. I did that when I restored a boat a year or two back and made new custom seats/seat stands. When the new owner took it he thought I'd had fibre...

Re: Estimating Boat Weight And Related

You can call a crane company with a scale on the crane and a set of slings, but that costs. Hopefully somebody else has gone before and can confirm for you. If not, I'd go with the Glen-L weight, add 10 percent minimum and see how that fits with trailer regs in your area. If it is close to some desi...

Re: Bow High until planing - Gentry

Thanks Mr Hot Rod. That is a COOL shot. 8) I think even in full up those tabs give a little extra aft length, particularly at slower speeds when they are deeper in the water (not sure if that really makes sense, but it sounded good). I don't really like the looks of trim tabs on her (personal taste)...

Re: Bow High until planing - Gentry

Thanks for doing some experimenting Neel. Not quite sure what, if anything to do now. If you give her some good throttle, there isn't really a problem because she gets up on plane very quickly - it is just the bit in between, either 5MPH or 20, although I haven't had her on smooth enough water to re...

Re: Help - Desperate need of space for boat build in Brisban

Hope you find something. If you need a quick fix, come up to the Sunshine Coast on a Sunday for some "therapy". :D Mine is basically complete but working on the cutwater and trim inside at present.

Re: AG2 Gathering - Where this year?

Hi Bill.
We looked at the Clarence, but didn't find a venue that suited us this time around. Happy to take ideas for the next one.

Re: Bow High until planing - Gentry

Glenn Have you tried the simple test of putting a couple of 20 litre containers filled with water as far up front as you can get them and see if that holds the nose down. I had a 3 metre tinnie with your problem and with a little bit of weight shift the problem was fixed and it planned better too. ...

Re: AG2 Attendees list - please add your name/guests/boats

Hi all, Alan has done some sleuthing for us. Glenn We drove down to Yamba today and had a look around the Blue Dolphin Resort. Re: Bow High until planing - Gentry

Another slightly annoying thing is the very loud flapping of the rubber exhaust flaps as you throttle down or go through certain throttle ranges - it out strips the exhaust noise itself. Not sure what can be done about it other than maybe make them hinged stainless with a rubber seal rather than jus...

Re: Bow High until planing - Gentry

Thanks Guys, Sounds like I need to add the plate mentioned by Trisailor to my bottom. She does turn, but as soon as you turn the rudder you hear quite a racket from underneath and there is a significant decrease in speed. It will be a while before she is back in the water, so maybe I make the plate ...

Re: Tahoe 20 - New Zealand Progress

My main drawbar is SHS, so it is a relatively easy mod for me if I decide to go that way. Don't know what size yours is, but the basic system is the same, a smaller bar slips inside the main bar, which is ok smaller as it is only used to launch and retrieve, Best of luck.
