Re: Computer woes

It is working now. I had a message that said I had been permanently blocked from using the site. I was having visions of some hacker posting bad things under my name

Re: Roberta's Torpedo

Roberta, whenever someone is surprised that my boat was built in a garage, I show them your thread. If you bring it to the gathering this year, I have to make sure I'm there just so I can see it.

Re: Glen L Malahini

I would not recommend a Malahini for use on the Great Lakes. I have one on a lake that is 7500 acres. It gets windy on our lake and on the weekends, it can be spine crushing and I just don't go out. Plus there is not as much freeboard as I would like on a lake that as big as Lake Erie. There are a c...

I have not been on the forum in a while, but this is always the first thread I check. You have really progressed! Have you decided how you will plank the deck yet?

Re: Roberta's Torpedo

Roberta, Great looking job on the motor install. If you get to the neat Gathering can I get a ride? Jeff Me too !!! Can I get a ride??? What! Are you people nuts? I would never ride in such a crude contraption as that. It has an internal combustion engine with big loud exhaust pipes and the hull lo...

Now is the time to get started! You have a long, cold winter coming and that is the perfect time to immerse (pun intended) yourself into a boat project.

Re: Can Ski Tow Support weight of 4-stroke engine

I have a Malahini with a 90HP E-TEC. It is not a 4-stroke, but it does weigh 320lbs.

Re: Roberta's Torpedo

So I take it you are not at the gathering this year. It's all part of your master plan...keeping everyone on pins and needles until next year for the great unveiling.

I drove across the I-24 bridge yesterday from Nashville back to Atlanta. I looked for woodies, but didn't see anyone.

Re: Roberta's Torpedo

Well, I finally decided on the engine and transmission for the Torpedo. I'm going with the Crusader Captain's Choice 5.7 MPI with a Velvet Drive Liberty A transmission. The engine is closed cooling with 330hp and fuel injected. The transmission is the newer style 8 deg. down angle with 1:1 gear rat...

Very nice! Would you explain the the galley in the 5th photo? Does the end open to reveal the galley? In the first photo, I think I see a handle below the license plate and a hinge up at the top.

Re: What difference in all the Paddleboards??

Ken, I know a paddle board is the kind you lie on and paddle, SUP is standup paddle board and I don't know what the other one is. There are also sit on top kayaks that can be paddled standing up. SUP is the common acronym for standup paddle board. The only two places with plans for SUP that I'm awar...

Re: She's Official

You will need a hull id number before you can officially register it. For my boat, I had to contact GA DNR and make an appointment. It took a couple of weeks and then a DNR Officer in uniform, wearing a sidearm came to my house. He completed the paperwork and affixed the hull id stickers.
