Looks like it's the same here at WMU in Kalamazoo. Sorry about your truck; any damage?

Re: Help tracing patterns

I use wax paper and some fine tipped sharpies. When the width of the pattern became to large I would just tape two pieces together and add a staple or two. Has been working great for my Squirt build!

Good Luck!

Re: Squirt

I am also in the process of building the squirt and have so far out about $1500 into it. That doesn't included the tools I needed to purchase (table saw, jig saw, clamps, clamps, clamps, etc). It does include all of the hard wood and plywood used for planking. I plan to finish the deck with an Afric...

Re: Hello from Michigan

I looked around quite a bit and found a place named Johnston's Work Bench which is out of Grand Rapids. A friend of mine who also recommended it used it for his Chris Craft restoration project. I did try and find some other places as my dad owns a hardware shop and he asked a couple of builders abou...

Re: Newbie, in every sense of the word

hello josh, I'm also a first time builder and completely new to everything. I've never cut wood before except when cutting Christmas trees and this was the first time I had used a table saw, jig saw, and circular saw. I'm starting out with building a Squirt as it's suppose to be good for beginners a...

Teak and Holly vs Marine Caulk

I'm building a squirt right now, I only have the jig set up so far as I'm gathering my materials. I was recently at a wooden boat show in Spring Lake, Michigan where I was happily surprised to see a few Glen-L boats among the older Chris Crafts and such but I did notice one thing. I always thought t...

Re: Squirt Price

Thanks for the help, my dad owns a hardware business and said he can help get me some wood at a good price so that should help. Also, one of my family friends just got done restoring an old chris craft and he said I should start with an easy stitch-and-glue kayak o get a feel for what I'll be doing....

Squirt Price

Hi I'm new to the forum and looking in to the Squirt but was wondering what kind of price this will cost; time isn't a problem and I have a 15hp Evinrude so I have that part of the price covered. I did do a few searches in the forum but prices ranged from $2,000-$5,000. This would be my first boat s...

New, Looking in to the Squirt

Hi everyone, it's that time of the year again and while looking for used boats I decided to look up what it would be like to build a boat myself and stumbled upon Glen-L.com. I'm selling my 13' zodiac and looking for a replacement and the Squirt looks like something the would be up to the challenge....
