Re: New Member

Thanks Gayle.

I'm doing my best to build true to a great design. I'm grateful to you and the Glen-L crew for making the journey possible and to your Dad for showing the way.

Re: New Member

Iggy, Thanks for your kind words. I confess to obsessing a bit over getting the hull turned but had some assistance working out the details of the turning cradle and a good crew to help get the job done. I imagine the satisfaction & relief of getting the flip over & done is pretty much the same rega...

Re: New Member

Thanks guys! I am grateful for your support. I confess having lost some sleep over getting the hull right side up while keeping it in one piece. Looking forward to the next phase. Will post as progress permits.

Re: New Member

Dave,

Thanks. The sanding process and cold weather has really slowed things down lately. I've been inspired seeing some of the completed projects on the forum. Love the finish on your Riviera!

Re: New Member

Hi,

Have made slow but steady progress since last post. Endless sanding.

Shooting primer this week and hope to have hull turned over by March. Have a few current pics and will try to get more up as progress permits.

Used a high speed air grinder with a 1/4" bit and a circular jig tacked together from thin wall tubing scrap. Will send a pic if I can find it.

Similar to the Sidepower tool in the attached photo but using materials on hand.

Re: Inboard Shaft Holes - (Glen-L Wants to Pick Your Brains)

Got this technique from the following site:

Have attached some pics boring the shaft log hole for the Klondike.

Re: New Member

Thanks for the kind words. I'm grateful to find a community of folks who understands the peculiar affliction of boatbuilding. I like to think of the project as therapy; my wife says I must need lots of it!
