Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build
Bob, thanks for that information. I'm up around G'ville and Spartanburg often enough to possibly use them as a lumber source.

Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build
I've got the stringers notched, and am in the process of notching out the frames for the keel/chine/sheer this week. I did have one really big head scratching moment concerning the deck camber boards, but figured it out after cutting out a full size pattern for the arch, instead of a half pattern wi...

Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build
Jim, I'm an hour west of Augusta. I actually work in Augusta, as a flight paramedic at Doctor's Hospital. Glad to see a couple other GA boys working on nice boats!
Jeff, I live close to Clark Hill Lake; about 20 minutes from home. I'm in Wilkes County.

Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build
Thanks, Rod. I have been checking out the places with websites first, and plan on moving to the phone next. Suwanee LC gave me a phone number to a place in Buford called Marine Woodworks as well. When I get to the point where I will order Okoume, I will let you know if they have it and they could be...

Tahoe 23 Georgia build
Well, I'm out of the gate and running with my Tahoe 23 build! I'm about 40 hours into it now, and have the frames, floor timbers, and gussets cut, except for the deck beams which are making me scratch my head a little. I hope no one minds me starting a thread like some others have done documenting t...

Re: Tahoe 20 - New Zealand Progress
Dave,
Beautiful build, and thanks for posting pictures! I have plans for a 23' Tahoe on the way, and your ideas in the layout of the cockpit are very similar to what my ideas have been!!!
Keep posting pics, and I hope you don't mind my picking your brain in the future. Beautiful boat!
Brad

New guy, Tahoe 23
Hi all, I've been toying with the idea of a boat for years now, and now I'm at least ordering plans for the Tahoe 23. I've been woodworking for over 20 years as a hobby. I've built furniture, many acoustic guitars, a strip canoe and 2 strip kayaks, and my own shop, so I hope those experiences will a...

Re: Hello from Washington, Georgia!
kens, she is just up the road from here, about 40 miles or so! I'm in the wondering and thinking stages now, but I'm wanting to do an inboard, something like the Riviera. Cost is my big barrier right now, but it gives me plenty of time to research and learn I guess. You could say that I'm one step p...

Re: Hello from Washington, Georgia!
Hi, Chip! I actually work in Augusta, right next door to you; glad to see someone really close by. Dave, I'll be glad to post some pics of the yaks if you like. They were both fun builds. The Guillemot design was from the offsets out of Nick Schade's book, and the Outer Island off a set of plans fro...

Hello from Washington, Georgia!
Hi, Folks! As my first pre-questions post, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Brad Tucker, and live in Georgia, between Athens and Augusta. I'm a flight paramedic full time, and my passion is woodworking. I've built several acoustic guitars, 2 kayaks (Guillemot style and Outer Island style) a surfboa...
