Re: 20ft Texas Barrel
I did basically what others mentioned. I laid the bottom mahogany plank so its edge matched the chine line. As the plank edge rolled aft, I brought its bottom edge out to where it sat exactly on the chine break (intersection of the bottom and side). That left a little triangle of wood to fair off. I...

There is a compromise in there. "We can make life as simple, or difficult, as we choose."

Re: Placement of guards on the Tahoe
I wanted the swim deck because it was needed for our use. We love hanging out on the lake and having a place to relax when we aren't under power. If I recall, that height pretty much was the height of the guards. After running her, the swim deck is of no issue to the wake. Just an FYI, even though y...

Re: 20ft Texas Barrel
I used thin epoxy thickened with silica on all but the mahogany outer layer, and spread it with a notched trowel. On the final mahogany layer, I used fine sawdust I had saved, so any small gaps were filled in with something that wasn't white, if this helps.

Re: In hull Transducers
I have a Faria depth finder in mine. The xducer I got was the through hull, and of course, they did not mention that it wasn't recommended for wood. I had to find that out after I bought it. But I bagged it in water and found a place it would sound through, and mounted it. Jury is still out on wheth...

Re: Tahoe 23 prop size?
Rich, I thought so, as well. The 12 made it jump out of the hole. I noticed with the 13 I get a little tail wag it seems during holeshot if I throttle up hard. I don't know if that is normal, but I don't plan on doing that often. Midrange acceleration is pretty impressive to me.
