Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build

Thank you all so much for the kind words! I have been able to move the date to tomorrow so we will soon see how everything goes. I am "officially" done, but we know we are never "officially" done.

Re: Tahoe 23 prop size?

After talking to Kevin at Acme, I'm starting with a 541 (13x12) and going from there. It seems less than what I would have thought, but the 541 Acme apparently performs like a 13x13 old style. I will post the final pitch here, so it may help future builders with a similar setup.

THIS lake, I am sure of that! Unless you love fiberglass, because that's all that's there!

Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build

Thanks! The prop has been ordered, and tentative sea trials are planned for Monday, September 1st. I'll be a nervous wreck from here on out! Will it come off the trailer? Will the shaft seal work? Will it run under load? Will it......well, you all know what I mean.

Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build

Thanks! It wasn't nearly as bad to do as I thought. The Sailrite website is great.

Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build

HAHA!!!! Thanks! I am now trying to figure out my front seats. I haven't had to redo anything yet, but they may end up getting an extra shot. They're the most complicated pieces of the upholstery

Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build

So, after parting ways with my upholsterer, getting my Sailrite machine and a little practice, I managed to make a couple of bolstered seat cushions. Bad outcomes sometimes create opportunities to learn some cool new things.

Re: Cutting Exhaust Hose Question

I used a utility razor knife for the rubber, and an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel for the wires. Side cutters didn't work. That's some tough wire!
