I believe you want to add the 10% between the transom and frame 5 only. Do not increase the dim between frame 5 and 6.

Adding Electic Start to a Merc Mk 30 Issues

I have gather all the parts I need to add electric start and remote choke to my Merc Mark 30 but have come across a couple of issues. The first issue is the location of the starter solenoid. I see two likely locations. The first one would be on the side of the start as seen in Retroman's Mark 55 pic...

I have recieved the new brush/lead wire, cleaned up all the rust on the housing and I am about to put the starter back together. Which leads me to my next question. Should I repaint the inside of the housing and if I do should I use anything special. Thanks.

According to the AOMCI.org website the AMC580 is a 10" 10 pitch 3 blade al prop. I don't know about the 22914.
