Re: Rogue Runner Plans

Tracklhappy, The one part of the plans that made me more inclined to go ahead with this project is that they detail how to build the frames for OB or I/O or jet. Very clear instructions. I had envisioned continuing the motor frame forward enough for the room. It adds a bit of weight, but I think it ...

Re: Rogue Runner Plans

Thanks Doug and Billy, I do understand the apprehension. I was hoping that there were folks that knew how to compensate for changes. I had read the links that Billy posted except the one about motor placement. So if it were made of aluminum, I cant see how that changes the dynamics. The big boat bui...

Re: Rogue Runner Plans

Hmmmm? 57 views and no input? How about this then? I was worried about the center point and being too far forward. The Atlantic Skiff offers a layout that works. Its a 24'. But I just looked at much smaller boats that are mid engine. ie the Cracker Box etc. Those are shorter and smaller. The Cracker...

Rogue Runner Plans

Hello all. I have my frames made for the Rogue Runner, but have had a change of heart on the power. I had planned to use an OB jet. But I just picked up a little 15' boat that has a rebuilt 283 and a Berkeley pump that run perfectly. The boat isn't so fortunate. It does have a trailer, fuel tank, st...

Re: Revival of the Rogue Runner project

Got most of the frames done now. Was going back and forth on the power for it. The plans come for OB, IO and Inboard Jet. The shop that just built the OB for my big boat quoted me 2K for a rebuilt 100hp Merc with a jet pump. But then I saw an ad on Craigslist. I picked up a little glass boat with a ...

Re: Revival of the Rogue Runner project

Here is a view of one of the frames dry fitted. I'm wondering if I could drill holes in the web like an aircraft frame to lighten it up some?

Re: Revival of the Rogue Runner project

I made and labeled all the frame parts in 1/4 plywood for patterns in case I want to build more, lose or break a piece. Or in this case. Not work on it for a year and forget stuff? Bottom frame member cut out.

Revival of the Rogue Runner project

About a year ago, I started this project and then bought a new aluminum sled. I love the big boat, but its too big to use here in the local river. So. I dusted off the plans and parts I had cut out yesterday and will make it after all. Here is the first load of mahogany and marine plywood picture fr...

Couple of questions on my Rogue Runner plans

#1. I've read that using epoxy to build the boat is best. My plans show zero info on hardware placement. Is that just something I should know from reading the available book? There is a screw pkg. available for purchase. To screw or not to screw? #2. There are plenty of warnings on modifications. Af...
