Re: Build planning - When/how to chose the engine
Bill - Are there any photos of the scoops that Roberta Hegi and David Barrett did in the Glen-L Gallery of photos? If so, what did they build so I can look them up?

Re: Build planning - When/how to chose the engine
Jenko - Can you post a photo of the scoop you made? There is no way the engine I want will fit without it. Also I wanted to build double hatch doors so I don't know how a scoop could be fashioned in that case. Thanks, Chris.

Re: Build planning - When/how to chose the engine
Jay - I am working on the Monaco. Had to quit for awhile but am back on it with a vengeance. My string is "Monaco Restart". Your engine inquire is perfect timing for me as I have always wondered about fit myself. I have been looking at engines and found a prime candidate but am concerned over the he...

Re: Monaco Restart
Engine Shopping - I have been looking at engines and found a prime candidate but am concerned over the height. At a 15 degree prop shaft angle the diagram indicates the height to be 26 1/2" from the motor mounts to the top of the riser. After measuring the boat (upside down of course) that appears t...

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.
Thanks Skip and Bob. I will try a combination of those methods to see what works best. My late Dad was an oral surgeon so I've got a bunch of that stuff around to try. Thanks again guys, Chris

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.
Great that you're at the same stage as me. We can be confused together, LOL. I actually made a booboo on the first pieces attached. I used the brown plastic staples thinking they would stain and finish like the wood. They won't - so I moved to the T-50 staples and rope. Luckily most of the plastic s...

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.
Skip, looking great with the caulking. I am currently attaching the finish layer of mahogany using the metal staple and rope method. Working very well but I am concerned on how to fill and finish the million or so tiny holes I'll have. You are certainly generous (as is everyone) with helping others....

Looks great Bill. How many times did you have to answer, "Yes, I will be able to get it out of the house."?

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.
Skip, indeed it looks great. Like Bryan - I'd like to know the material type you plan to inlay between the deck boards. Not only that, how will it be attached? Keep up the excellent work. Chris.

Re: Monaco Restart
That is what I kind of thought as well. I was just wondering if anyone ever weighed the finished product.

Re: Monaco Restart
I am getting some expert advice on the power train for my Monaco. Does anyone know how much this model weighs when complete - roughly? Thanks, Chris.

Skip, that is super nice wood work and the finishing of it. Something for me to aspire to as my work continues. Thanks for the photos. Great work. Chris.

Looks fantastic. I cannot wait until I flip my Monaco. I am wanting to paint the bottom green as well. The white border (boot maybe??) looks great too. Congratulations. Chris.

Re: Monaco Restart
Rich - I thought #14-289 would be the right fin but wanted to make sure. Ozzieboat - Part #90-009 does not show up indeed. How come you used a different rudder than listed in the part list? I have read that the rudder has to be "tweaked" for the boat to run and handle at optimum. Some one removed li...

Re: Monaco Restart
Thanks Jeff. I actually tried to look at that link and found the notification. I followed up with the other links you sent and looked at your projects. Fantastic work. Everyone's work makes my goals that much greater. I actually have never been to the Madisonvile Wooden Boat Festival but plan to thi...
