I heard from somewhere that the bigger Honda outboard 4 strokes are civic engines standing on their backside...maybe parts are changeable for exhausts and such...?

yep...not for me.... :lol: :shock: :lol: had one boat (when I was young and stupid)was soo overpowered (140hp v6 evinrude) on a 15ft glass boat only the prop was in the water.....man my heart still goes into overdrive thinking about that thing...scarey man scarey :shock: :shock: ended up sinking it ...

I havent built a boat yet...but have owned and modified quite a few glassies...and built rc planes up to 6ft windspan.... so I'm only throwing a few thoughts in as well....without pics it is very hard to really see whats going on....water cant be that much different to airflow :D I remember when Aus...

And one of the things Dave Lott says couple of Trim Tabs may help also :) ...force the nose down much like elevator on a plane....but I main thing is for bottom to be true....Water on a boat acts like air over plane wing if not right big problems.... :(

No Prob....hope he sorts it out....we just did same thing to my sons carribean...it was playing merry hell so we cut transom and refibreglassed...lowered short legged merc to exactly 3/4 inch below boat....she flys now

Hi Nova....Tend to agree I have set up quite a few outboards and I think if his boat's bottom is fairly straight...lowering Cav Plate up to an inch below bottom of boat usually helps....then you can trim in or out to get desired effect..

Be careful with those Wings on Outboards have had 2 boats where it has completely flippped boat in 360deg when turning to the right... :cry:

for longitudinals like chines, sheers, battens, choose the wood with the straightest, most vertical grain you can have; regardless of a decision on species at this point. for decks/veneer outer layers choose the twisty cross grained stuff, that stuff yields the variable grain patterns that is nice ...
