Traveling to G7

If you are traveling to Hales Bar Marina from Chattanooga, don't take route 41. It is in bad shape. Instead stay on 24 to the west end of Hales Bar Road.

Re: Food Thread for G7

Laura & I will help out at breakfast also. Swedish pancakes with lingonberry sauce. Maybe Paul's maple syrup too if he brings extra.

Re: Finger Joint

Just my 2 cents worth, check out this site. http://www.oneoceankayaks.com/stitchglu ... rfjig2.htm
They do use finger joints, but they require a cnc router to make them accurate enough.

Re: G7 Pop up Canopies, Tables & Tag Sale

Just want to bring the Tag Sale back to everyone's attention. I have received a box of fasteners from Roger, mostly bronze, with his regrets at missing this years gathering. I sure don't want to drive them back to Mystic. See y'all in Tennessee.

Welcome aboard Todd! I'm sure you will find all of the expertise necessary to build your Minuet in this forum. I've thought about building that one myself.

Re: Screw Lube?

Kens, I totally agree. Here is a good primer on wood screws that deals with all of the issues raised in this thread plus some.

Re: Screw Lube?

Oh no! And I was about to order more. There is another product called Screwwax sold by Woodcrafters and Amazon. Looks to be the same as Akempucky.

Akempucky works great. Sold by Jamestown Distributors and others I'm sure. Here is a link to Jamestown site.

Re: Composite Staples & Nails

Bill, the Omer brad nailer is identified as 1 3/16" - 2 1/2", but it shoots 3/4 just fine. I bought this from Raptor.

Re: Composite Staples & Nails

Roberta, I have the Omer brad nailer specified by Raptor and it shoots 3/4" brads. The package shows a 1/2" size also. I was contemplating bringing it to G7 as a 'rental' for a donation to the gathering kitty. If you decide to go with brads it's available.

Re: Food Thread for G7

Bill, I can drop the keg(s) off on Monday, or, Tuesday if they're not quite empty by Monday!
Also, I'll be happy to provide appetizers & Happy Hour munchies each day. I'll see if I can get Roger to put his culinary skills to good use.
